Update on Tunguli’s new midwife

Salmin, our new midwife since March, has kindly sent us a little history of his life and I think you will agree that he comes well qualified for his new role :

The following are some of the information concerning my self in my life since childhood and up to now.

My name is Salmin, and I was born in 2003. I am the firstborn in a family of three boys, born to Mr. Abeid Bilal and Ms. Elizabeth Wadelanga.  I am a Christian. I am born again, and Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life.

I completed my primary and secondary education in Dar es Salaam, where I lived with both parents. When I reached Form 3, I was transferred to Mvomero, Morogoro, to live with my grandparents due to financial challenges my parents were facing.  From Form 3 to Form 4, I studied at Mvomero Secondary School in Morogoro.

In 2022, I joined Berega Health Training Institute to study Nursing and Midwifery for three years, and I graduated in September 2025.  After graduating, I returned home to Dar es Salaam and continued with other activities since I didn’t get an opportunity to volunteer at some hospitals. Later, I got the chance to volunteer at Tunguli Health Center in October as a volunteer Nurse and Midwife. In December, I sat for my licensing exam to be registered by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council. Thank God I passed and received my registration.

At the end of February, I was called by Director Canon Isack Mgego for work instructions to take over the duties of my colleague who had secured a government job.

Starting in March, I officially began my work serving the community by providing health education and supervising projects in each group.
