MM Trustees prepare to visit our friends in Tunguli ! October 2026

Well we are ready and waiting... full of excitement and expectancy ! In our forthcoming visit we will be spending time with the new midwife we are supporting. He will be using the motorbike we provided to travel out to remote parts of the area to hold clinics which will provide essential information regarding maternal health and childcare. These groups of women call themselves the ‘Tushikamane’ groups, which means ‘stronger together’. On another day we shall spend time looking round Tunguli Health Centre. The Centre is in the process, as I write, of being redecorated with money provided by our Charity...thank you everyone! We will be bringing the pictures home.

Our Trustees are also looking forward to being present for a meeting of the Savings and Loans group, which we are sponsoring. In this remote area where there are no banks or facilities to enable members of the community to save or seek a loan, this group is already enabling small savings and for the possibility of that money to be reinvested in small projects for the benefit of the whole community and for improving individual standards of living.

On our last day we shall be present for the final of a Football Tournament which is being fully sponsored by Mission Morogoro. In order to take part in a team young people have to agree to be part of a project which will enhance the health and healing of more vulnerable members of the Tunguli community. Over our time of sponsoring this project we have seen individual latrines provided for most of the community ! MM has harnessed the plain reality of football being a ‘universal language’.

We look forward to reporting back on our return.
